Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what data ClipGrab collects, why, and the rights you have over it. It is written to align with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).
1. Data we collect
ClipGrab requires no account or sign-up. We do not ask for your name, email, or any identifying information to use the tool. The data that is processed falls into two categories:
- Technical/log data: standard server logs (IP address, browser user-agent, timestamp, requested URL) generated automatically by web server software, kept only as long as needed for security and abuse prevention.
- Advertising data: our third-party ad network(s) may set cookies or use similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and may process your IP address and device information for that purpose. We do not control this processing directly — see our Cookie Policy.
2. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
Where GDPR applies, we rely on: legitimate interest for basic server logs necessary to operate and secure the service, and consent for non-essential cookies such as advertising cookies, which you can accept or decline via your browser settings or any cookie banner presented.
3. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port data we hold about you, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. EU/UK/EEA residents have these rights under GDPR; California residents have similar rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what categories of personal information are collected and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (which, under CCPA's broad definition, can include certain advertising-cookie data sharing). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [your-email@example.com].
4. Data retention
Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting purposes and then deleted or anonymized. We do not maintain long-term profiles of visitors.
5. Children's privacy
ClipGrab is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will address it.
6. International transfers
Because our advertising partners may operate outside your country, your data may be processed in countries with different data protection standards. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).
7. Contact
For any privacy request or question, email [your-email@example.com]. EU residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.
